Not a super interesting volume other than the red warp gate at the beginning. Still not bad.

Heads-up, this review is mainly going to be me musing about the subtle differences between the manhwa and the anime.
There are a number of small interactions and moments that didn't make it into the anime, which is understandable because budget, but also a pity, because I feel like they're quite endearing and humanising. Like Sung Jinwoo sounding fond and proud of his sister while talking about her with Han Song-yi, or Iron copying Igris like the dumb but earnest tank he is (they kept a different moment in the anime, but this one is cute too). I really like the touches of personality given to the shadows.
Another interesting difference is that the anime has Jinwoo find out a lot earlier that clearing the Demon's Castle will let him craft the Elixir of Life. Accordingly, his motivation to cure his mother is a driving force from the start in the anime. By comparison, here in the manhwa he only finds out that the cure can be crafted when he's already cleared up to level 75. I think I like the anime version better.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, once again I am intrigued by the system as clues continue to be dropped about what it's up to. In this volume, the ice elf leader Baruka mentions that they hear voices in their heads telling them to kill humans, and when Jinwoo asks where they come from and why they want to kill humans, Baruku glitches for a second then repeats his earlier line, like an NPC pushed beyond its programmed dialogue. Maybe they're all just pawns in a bigger game, in which the system must have a big role to play. The foreshadowing about a greater power coming, which is introduced by Sung Il-hwan (Jinwoo's dad), makes me more sure about this.
