This has been one of my favorite books for as long as I can remember. The meaning changes with age. Starting with when you're young and realizing being little doesn't mean you can't have an impact, as a young adult it means you can go your own way and listen to what you think is right, and as an adult it's about equality. I also think these ideas and themes change per person. how I feel may not be how you feel and I think that's the beauty of it.
This must be one of the most psychedelic books by the good doctor! It’s like a strange and random dream!
“We’ve got to make noise in greater amounts, so open your mouth because every voice counts!”

I am really torn here. I want to give more stars...I really really do! I like Horton but I hate the length of this book. The rhyming is wonderful and the story is fun but dear gosh my child will never ever sit through this. I couldn't sit through it. However I was able to sit through the 1 1/2 movie version if that makes sense.
Beautiful children book about accepting things that are different than your own.
This was a new one to me, I'd never read it as a child, or at least I don't have any recollection about it. But it's wonderful. My cousin, Colleen gave it to my son after consulting with her (now grown) children, which Dr. Seuss she should give him.
This book is perfect for children. Parents, I highly recommend this book. I mean, who doesn’t love a good Dr. Seuss book?
I read it as part of a reading for the children at my old elementary school. It was fun to go back to books that I have since forgotten.
Also, it is a great book, and the writing is perfect for children of all ages.

Oh so cute! And again teaches us something: that kids count just as much as grown-ups do. And if you're a kid, that's a great message. (I'm nut sure this comes across for all adult readers, I'm afraid they say "oh, see, YOU have to take care of small things, like insects".)
"In the 15th of May, in the jungle of Nool" - I love these particulars from dr Seuss. Wow, hats off to the poet!
Ps. But I don't get why Horton doesn't have tusks neither in the book or the film.
