I really loved the world building and it's a super cool concept - but I kept getting annoyed with how the main character kept needing to be saved by a man. She has super cool powers with a clear and evident drawback, but she never really learns how to cope with them or create a new avenue to make life easier in a tangible and effective way. Maybe I wanted her to be less flawed? Who knows.
Also, the dog was annoying.

So I was really miffed when I couldn't read this when it released (too much work) but I must say, it was well worth the wait! If you're a fan of well written stories about fae and/or grave witches, check it out!

This is the second book in the series and another great read. This is a great paranormal book and a real page turner. I still love the main character and she is still bad ass.
I like death better.. and it would SOOOOOooo never work.
Here's the problem. I ended up liking this series. She writes slowly as fuck but I love the series. the whole is much stronger than the first book. which I should have known when I wanted to possibly reread the first book. at the same time. I hate the male interestest in this series. just not lovin it. which is a problem with female heroines it's almost like... impossible to get a male love interest that works.

While I really liked the first book in the series. I didn't quite get as exited in this book. It just didn't hold my attention and it got to where I didn't really care what happened. Which is disappointing since there's so few urban fantasy series I really like anymore. It wasn't bad and maybe other people will enjoy it more than me but I wasn't willing to push through it.
