Catching Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds

As is often the case with books by Aurora Rose Reynolds, this book captivated me right from the beginning! I loved Leah and Trevor's meet-cute: there's nothing like an onery cat to bring two people together! But I really loved how Trevor and Leah came to be; after failed relationships, Leah was done doing the chasing, and wanted a man who knew what he wanted. Trevor slowly worked his way into Leah's life, beginning with forming a friendship.

Catching Him was a great introduction to a new series by Reynolds, with a whole new cast of characters! I look forward to more!

Leah and Tyler are the optimum of instalove.

Aurora has done it again with her classic instalove trope that she is so good at. I loved the easiness of their story and the alpha male vibes that were emanating off of Tyler throughout, hence the series title! It's easy to see why Tyler fell head over heels for Leah, especially, when she stood up to Tyler's mother. She was written slightly different to Aurora's other heroines and I can't quite [ut my finger on it.

There's always a massive dose of drama in these stories but they happen so quickly in such a small amount of time that it's just too much. I will always continue with any books Aurora writes because they're definitely my guilty pleasure.

I typically love Aurora Rose Reynolds but this one just didn't work for me. I was bored and I struggled to actually finish this.

Before I say anything about this book, I want to say that I loved the maturity in it, I loved the communication of the two characters, the fact that they didn't go around whining or not telling each other how they felt, they were open and honest and it made for a great read.
This book was filled with romance, adventure, lots of fur babies and the occasional mystery that was jest enough to make me not want to put it down until the end.

Not my catch

The best part of this book is the first chapter. Everything thereafter is just okay. I really enjoyed that first meet cute and had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, it fell flat.

Leah and Tyler are next door neighbors who meet when Leah’s cat goes through Tyler’s window. They fall instantly in love and it’s happily ever after with a little property destruction mystery. I just saved you a few hours of reading.

There were two sex scenes. They were actually pretty good. There could have been one or two more to keep the book more interesting.

This is a series I won’t continue to read. There were some really good/funny parts, but just not enough of them. You might want to give it a try to see if this is the right book for you. Happy reading y’all!!

This book had sooo much potential, and I mean if your looking for an instalove with heavy dialogue than this is probably up your ally. Realistically tho, I can't comment beyond the first six chapters.

For me, it lacked a lot of things, I couldn't get into it and by 30% I couldn't find it in me to actually see if it the writing style would pick up or if the characters got even the slightest bit more interesting.

I've had this series on my TBR for a while however after DNFing the first book, I don't think I'll be able to finish it.

This was your typical ARR rom-com. Alpha male and a somewhat quirky girl who have their meet cute in random situation. If you love her previous work then really enjoy this one.
