seems cute but too many characters, it’s confusing. i really believe that interconnected standalones should be able to be read as…wait for it: standalones. we don’t need every single character from each book in the first chapter.

Wicked Whiskey Love is too sweet. Sweet and cheesy. I try to like it but I fail. It is horrible. It is like eating a candy that is way too sweet that makes you sick.

I do not like both Sarah and Bones. Too good to be true.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to Lisa for letting me be part of this tour. I have been a fan of Melissa's work for a very long time now and I look forward to every new book. Luckily she is a writing machine so I never have to wait too long for the next story.

We met Sarah in the last Whiskey story, Driving Whiskey Wild. Sarah, her children and her brother were in a car accident and Bullet Whiskey helped to rescue them. At the hospital, she meets Bones for the first time. The chemistry was there between these two from that very moment but it took Sarah a lot longer to learn she could trust Dr Whiskey.

Sarah has had a hard life. She has been through things that no one should have to go through. She has come out the other side braver and stronger than she probably ever thought possible. I am in awe of her.

Dr Whiskey is one hell of a man. By day he is a highly respected oncologist. Bones knows exactly how to treat his patients and not just with medication but also by giving them the time they need to be heard. By night he's a member of the Dark Knights protecting the community and doing whatever needs be.

This story was one that really pulled on the heartstrings. I spent a lot of time fighting back the tears and failing miserably.

Melissa managed to draw me into her world and I really didn't want to leave. The Whiskey family, like all the families Melissa creates, is one full of love, laughter and happiness. While they may not have had the perfect life they are happy now and that is all that matters. I hear the next book is about Sarah's sister Josie and, while it's probably going to break me, I can't wait to hear her story.

Wicked Whiskey Love was one of my earliest Melissa Foster books I ever read. I’ve read countless since but, Dr Whiskey has always stuck in my mind as being caring, loving, passionate, possessive(good way), and super protective of those he loves. Sarah Beckly and her kids quickly made it to the very top of that list. I recently won an audio copy of Wicked Whiskey Love and was so happy to actually listen to the story and revisit Sarah and Bones’ love story. Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon bring the story to life and I loved it! I’m so happy to see that Melissa has moved from one narrator to two. Zachary Webber is one of my all-time favorite male narrators. Love the passion and emotion his voice brings to the story along with a smooth as fine whiskey richness you hear when he narrates. I have listened to Erin Mallon multiple times and her narration abilities of bringing her characters to life is truly amazing as well.

UPDATE RE-READ 2021: Ok...so Bones and Sarah's story grew on me. I have re-read the series multiple times and I've come to love their story. Once I got past the whole pregnant with another mans baby, I saw the sweet love that Bones showed Sarah. How he showed her through his actions that she was worthy of being loved. A sweet story, one that shows the strength of a woman to want better for her children and herself. I have grown to love this book.

I am not a fan of stories of men falling in love with pregnant women. (But it’s ok if you do!)

Sarah Beckley fought to survive her whole life. Now she had to survive and keep her 2 children and unborn child safe. After finding her brother, the two of them suffer more tragedy after being in a horrible car accident. Here they meet the Whiskeys. Sarah meets Bones while at a low part of her life. Her daughter and brother are fighting for their lives after the accident.

Bones Whiskey is the only one who isn’t directly involved with the family Bar and Auto-body shop. He is a renowned oncologist. He saves lives by being a great doctor.

There were great parts to their story and others were I believed rushed. I think the fact that Bones fell for her very fast, when he never stayed with anyone long, was rushed and unbelievable. Who falls in love with someone who is visibly pregnant and you don’t know if she’s single? I did like the way the whole family loved her and her kids after Bones and Sarah got together. I love the family bond that the Whiskeys have with their blood relatives and non-blood family.

This wasn’t my favorite Whiskey book, but still worthy of a read.

I think I enjoyed this more than the other books I've read of her. I do think the kids didn't act like their age, but I also don't have any so I'm not so sure.
It's always confusing in the beginning with all of these characters, but I actually liked them.

Holy swoons!!! I looooved this book. It was a story with a ton of heart, passion, strength and perseverance. Melissa Foster did a phenomenal job creating this close knit group of characters that I could not help but love. Bone and Sarah's chemistry was off the charts fantastic. You just felt their love shine through.

I loved Sarah. I loved her strength and her dedication to her kids. Her will to overcome her past and leave a dangerous situation made me admire her more and more as the story went on. And then there was Bones. Bones Whiskey is dream man material. He is everything you want in a hero. He's a successful doctor. A great family man and friend. And maybe the sexiest thing about him is how he listens and anticipates all Sarah and her children's needs. Gah!! I love him so much. Every time he interacted with the children, I melted into a puddle. I need a real life Wayne "Bones" Whiskey in my life.

Wicked Whiskey love was my first book by this author. However, because I hadn't read any of the previous books that featured the Whiskeys, I was a little lost in the beginning. There were so many characters that I felt I was should have already known. Or events like Bones and Sarah's initial first meeting that I'm assuming happened in a previous book and are now kind of glossed over. I know it's considered a standalone but I would strongly suggest reading Tru Blue, Truly, Madly Whiskey, and Driving Whiskey Wild before hand this one. Even though I really enjoyed this book, I wish I had.

Bones Whiskey was every woman's ideal man. He was a doctor, so he could heal, but he was also a bad @$$. His protective instincts were off the charts, but he also supported Sarah in her independence. There was not a single thing about him that I didn't find swoon worthy. Sarah had a rough life before she met Bones. She had two young children and another on the way, so she kept expecting Bones to lose interest in her or, as she puts it, for the other shoe to drop What Sarah didn't realize initially was Bones was in it for the long haul. The connection between these two was palpable and the sex was off the charts hot. The story had so much substance and at times I felt myself tearing up as what Sarah went through was revealed. I'm definitely looking forward to getting Sarah's sister's story and hope her brother gets one too. Definitely recommend this book and I now need to go back and read all the others in this series.
