You just have to follow these three and their stories, something pulls you in, spreading melancholy, but its so good to be back reading Daphne!

The style of the Parasites is very different to other books of du Maurier’s. Instead of a thriller or adventure plot, it focuses instead on a thorough character study of three siblings and their complex family relationships. Du Maurier is masterful at creating a particular atmosphere, and in The Parasites I found it to be bleak and without redemption.

3.75 stars. I am not mad at the ending. Not the usual duMaurier offering. Interesting.
