Loved the twist and how detective Kaga unraveled it.

I really was wondering why ppl love this book so much. idk about you, but a lot of my mutual on twitter adore this book so so much. jadi gue cobalah langganan gramedia digital ONLY for this book.

pertama gue beneran ngira ini cuma buku thriller yang kayak biasanya. the first 3 chapter was just like every average thriller crime books, BUT I really am feel so curious about WHY they caught them pretty soon when we are still in the first pages of the book. DAN TERNYATA?!?!?!?! ini semua tuh bukan sekedar tentang WHO KILLED HIM but WHY DID HE KILLED HIM? WHAT WAS THE REASONS?

BUT you'll be completely WRONG once you think 'AHA! I got it' because NO you won't got anything until the end lol

dan akhirnya? lol kalian bisa baca sendiri.

I thought this book was okay. The mystery was fairly mysterious, and I liked the way it was written, how you don't know if what you're reading is actually true. But, overall it didn't really grip me, and it was a little bit forgettable (as I write this review, 2 months later, I can't quite remember the ending and the whodunnit reveal).

I thought I’d find this back-to-front Whydunnit (instead of Whodunnit) a bit predictable but it certainly was anything but. I enjoyed seeing the different twists on the same pieces of evidence and I found myself completely believing each new shift in perspective as the last theory was disproved. I was really glad that the end piece of the puzzle wasn’t a reveal of some huge plot point that the reader had no way of predicting. The seeds had been sewn throughout so the final solution wasn’t infuriating from a Howdunnit standpoint, but the Whydunnit was a bit less satisfying

Keigo Higashino is one of my favorite authors!
His books are masterpieces.

A Former teacher, Kaga is now a detective. And his empathy drives his epiphany in solving this mystery.
So, complex and compelling while being so much fun as it unravels. Everything is a clue, the title the cover art. Everything is there for a reason. Which is exactly how I like my plots.

This book is very much about human nature. And society. It’s flaws and failures. It is rich with raw emotions that are a driving force towards both good & bad actions; proving that everything is more complicated than we first inspect. And because the murder victim is an author, it explores both literature and literary devices in fascinating plot points. The “don’t tell, show writing rule” was my favorite, because as a reader of many a mystery that is a vital detail!

The nontraditional format of the novel is also a treat because it’s not a gimmick, it’s executed brilliantly. Because this is a book about a writer. It’s a literary whodunit.

The chapter titles brought more pleasure.
Murder
Suspicion
Resolution
<>>
Pursuit
Confession
The Past
The Truth

My second reading of this book was just as powerful if not more so than my first.
