Surprisingly loved this book! Funny, biting, witty. Super smooth and enjoyable read. Fun. Soared through it. Had real themes like alcoholism that were well done.

In all honesty, just watch the movie. It's so much better.

I found the main character in general very unlikeable and the book mainly consisted of her workplace abusing her in every way  possible. There were parts I enjoyed, but for me the pacing of the book was generally off. For a long time the plot didn't seem to be going anywhere and then the climax came at the very end of the book, which left me as a reader incredibly confused. It wasn't terrible, but I don't see myself picking it up again.

This was a good read! I’ve seen the movie so had an idea of what the book was about. It follows Andy’s journey as an assistant to one of the top fashion magazine editors in the world. I do think the story dragged on a bit in a few spots, but I would recommend this book as a good summer vacation read!

I couldn’t help comparing this to the movie while I was reading it, because that’s what I watched (and loved) first.
Purely as a book, this was a pretty solid middle of the road book. Didn’t hate it; didn’t love it - it’s just average for me.
The extra characters and depth for Andy was nice.
I missed a chance to see Miranda as a person rather than just a tyrannical monster but I understand that it wasn't really the point of the book.

This is a relatively fast, fun read. It takes a bit since it's a longer book, but the vocabulary isn't too complicated and the writing style flows easily. It's gimmicky and "trashy" in the best ways, reminding me of a reality show. Not much happens in the grand scheme of things, despite the book taking place over a year, so it's not the place to come if you're looking for a complex, earth shattering plot.
