SHRIEKS.  This was SUCH a satisfying ending to a long, thoughtful series.  The family dramas.  The friendships and romances torn apart.  The evils of bureaucracy and time-old demons and conspiracies and truths.  From Ida to Minoo, everything about this was great.  We even got to see some characters that didn't make it past the first book!  It was wonderful to see them again, and to get to know them better than we were ever able to in the past.

So much of the first half of this is cryptic, and nobody knows what's happening except that the apocalypse is just about to happen everybody is freaked.  We have invisible sisters and blank memories and fog that leads to different times.  There's more discussion on what it means to be a natural or learned witch, and more on what it means when a message is revealed to you.  Not only that, but we get an additional cast with their own incredible powers and unforgettable personalities.

Oh, man.  It was just incredible and satisfying and utterly fantastic.  I'm glad I happened upon this series when I did.  It's made for some really, really good times.

Wauw..

The last book of this series was cut into two books. So I'm nearly there! But because the book was split up, this book wasn't really that special. The book is only cut in the Dutch translation, the original Swedish one is just very big. But this resulted in a first part of the book without a real end or anything, just building up to the second part. Which is logical. I think it is a pity that the Dutch publisher decided to split the last book. But I'm thrilled to finish this series! I will like part two definitely better, because it contains the end!

Like I expected, I liked part two way more than part one. I really liked the way it ended!

The format of this book was different to the two first ones in the series, with a lot of jumping around in time and space. Adding to this confusion was the multitude of new characters, who I never really got a proper feel for. These things together made me not like this book as much as the first two, though I still loved some parts of the story; specifying would involve major spoilers.

I do not even know where to start. This was an incredible ending to the series. I laughed, I cried, I literally cheered out loud. I experienced low lows and high highs right along side each character. The thought and depth of emotion at times was breathtaking.

10/10 would recommend and wish I could start all over and experience each page all over again.
