Pretty funny book- and it puts a whole new meaning to the phrase "skinny bitch."
I got started on Meg Cabot through the Princess Diaries. I expanded to take on the Heather Wells Series and Boy Series. Interesting books
Random reread pick after I felt compelled to read a Meg Cabot book.
I loved this book. It was an easy read and I personally found the heroine relatable and hilarious. I do think she had her stupid moments, but that’s why I related to her so much. She felt like an actual human. I also really appreciated the fact that the romance (because come on, we all know there will be some at some point) wasn’t thrust into the first book and is taking time to develop. I am excited to read more books in this series!
I found myself getting annoyed with the character. I usually enjoy Meg Cabot, but I just couldn't get into the story or the heroine. As I work in higher education, I found the trope about dorm (i mean, residence hall) thing cute at first, but it got old fairly quickly. This does actually happen in that world, but reading it in print is way different than hearing it in conversation. Some of the stereotypes of those who worked in the halls were on point and what kept me interested. I did end up figuring out the plot twists before I actually read them, which I often find annoying because I don't often read mysteries. I might read another one in the series, but I won't be in any hurry.
A cute one time read/listen that was entertaining on my work commute. Not my favorite by Cabot, but I could see myself pursuing the sequels in the future should the mood strike.
I love Meg Cabot so much. Very similar to The Princess Diaries in terms of voice and characterization, so naturally I loved it. Plus, Heather is an Assistant Hall Director, and I know all too well the life of someone who works in University Housing from being an RA for three years. Great, fun reads.
This was a good summer read. I will continue reading the rest if the serious.
