This was my first experience with Meg Cabot, and I'll definitely be coming back for more! Size 12 is Not Fat was absolutely hilarious! I loved Heather's character and I truly don't think there's a way for anyone to not like Cooper! Wow!

Cute book, first of a series. I hope to find the others at my library and keep on reading about former pop star Heather Wells. She is going to keep finding dead bodies, I just know it :)

A little language and other references, but no worse than the Stephanie Plum books. Not Christian fiction, and I'm not sure I'd term it a cozy, but it was light and enjoyable. A good summer type read, easy and quick and pretty fun. I'm glad I picked it up at a library sale for a dollar!

Cute mystery/suspense novel. Yes, Heather is a little cliché. Yes, the book screams mid-aughts/early 2010s. Overlook that, and skip the godawful lyrics that begin each chapter, and this is an enjoyable read.

This book is very clearly a product of its time. It was published in 2005, and the way  that body image and weight is discussed throughout just screams early aughts. I appreciate the intended message of the book: size doesn’t matter. However, to the main character, it DOES seem to matter. Strangers are consistently commenting on the protagonist’s weight (she is a size 12, spoiler alert), and the comments don’t even seem like they’d happen naturally. Additionally, the protagonist’s internal discussion of weight is just kind of icky? Like, she blames being a size 12 on her inability to resist eating a snack and the fact that she only bathes because she’s too lazy to stand up and shower (which is such a weird character trait to include??). Basically, the main character’s main quirks are used to shame her for being a size 12, and it makes it seem like gaining weight and enjoying food is the worst thing possible (even though the mantra of the book is supposed to be the opposite).

That being said, I did enjoy the murder mystery aspect of this book a lot!! It is actually one of the main reasons I decided to buy a used copy of this book. I don’t think that it was necessarily the best murder mystery ever written, but it certainly was crazy. I do think that the protagonist was a little too horny for someone who has just witnessed two murders. Like, thirty minutes after seeing a murder, she is describing a man’s ass in detail. It’s just a weird flex to be turned on by murder is all.

I love Meg Cabot, but she was absolutely wild for this one .

Fun book. I really enjoyed the characters and the mystery with in. I liked that there wasn't any belittling because of size, but rather because of their actions and choices. I'll definitely be looking into the other books in this series because it is a fun. light read.

Former teen pop star Heather Wells finds herself embroiled in a mystery when young girls in the dorm where she now works start dying under suspicious circumstances. Pretty good read although I think Cabot overused the phrase "you know."

Did someone say murder mystery borderline comedy? Sign me up! Enter, Heather Wells, an ex-pop star who is now a residence hall assistant and stumbles into a murder situation. Mini-spoiler she is not a murderer but begins her own hunt to find said murderer. Craziness ensued and I thought it was interesting, so it kept me turning pages. On to the next book in my list... From one to another, Happy Reading!

I still love "Size 12 Is Not Fat" as much as I did when I first read it, and the second time, and the third... and so on. Could someone make this into a film? Would be so amazingly awesome.

I really was hoping this was gonna be better than it was. I love her teen voice and to be honest that’s what it sounded like in this book... only her character is 28 and it didn’t fit. I thought who the killer ended up being was a great plot twist but I felt like heather’s character just whined a lot. Meg Cabot I still love you, I just didn’t love this book.
