funny lighthearted fast-paced

Easy, fun read. I finished it in about 2 days. I enjoy Meg Cabot's writing when you want something girly and light hearted.

I quite enjoyed this book. I was getting a little discouraged with it because I didn't understand why the title "Size 12 is Not Fat" was even relevant to the storyline.
It is really only in the last 70 pages or so that everything falls into place and I must say I very much liked the ending.
The writing is a bit cheesy at times and it definitely has chick-lit written ALL over it!!! But it was an easy read, definitely NOT predictable!

Would possibly consider reading the other books in this series...

2018: Me Cabot is a treasure. She's clever, original, and fun. I've never read something from her that didn't make me laugh. This book is no different. Our protagonist is a strong woman who is struggling to balance self worth with all of those odd things we use to define them and it's refreshing to read someone who isn't brought low by it (not all of us are), but just muddling through and having fun when she can.

It's not my favorite Cabot book, but I'm glad I got a chance to read it. I'll definitely read this series through.

I was happily surprised in with this book.
It was so enjoyable, light-hearted and interesting.
There was twists, character developments and it played on emotions brilliantly.
I am sad that this was library borrow and not now that is actually on my bookshelf.

I really enjoyed this book and will eagerly start the next in the series.
The main character, Heather, is a former pop star working in a New York Dorm(Residence Hall). Her life is kind of the pits with a mom that ran off with her fortune and recent break up with another pop star. In the building where she is working a couple of girls die. Heather finds it odd and begins a bumbling investigation into the deaths. The story had hokey moments, but it is obvious that they were meant to be so by author, Cabot.
This is a great light story for someone who enjoys a comedic mystery. I highly recommend it!
lighthearted mysterious medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

A funny chick-lit mystery that made me laugh out loud throughout. However some little phrases were cliche and overused throughout, and sometimes our heroine seems a little bit dumb, but you root for her until the very end. A nice light read with a little bit of mystery and pop culture references.

*3.5*

The first book in the Heather Wells Mysteries and it served as a great introduction to the character and her world. This was extremely easy to read, and just a lot of fun.

It kind of reminded me a little of the Stephanie Plum series, except not quite as madcap. It had a good little mystery, a lot of fun, a good dose of danger, and a sexy detective / landlord to boot.

Really enjoyable, light reading.
