Ich hab mich durch diese Buch irgendwann gekämpft, da ich schon zu weit war um aufzuhören, aber jetzt nach ein paar Wochen habe ich auch schon wieder fast vergessen, dass ich es überhaupt gelesen habe.
Ich fand den Protagonisten langweilig und konnte nur wenig Empathie aufbringen.
Spannendes Thema war was er an der Börse gemacht hat und die Grundidee ansich.
Die ganzen religiösen Bezüge habe ich nur wenig verstanden, da ich wenig Hintergrundwissen habe, vlt hätte es das Buch besser gemacht, wenn ich es in mehr Kontext hätte einbetten können.

Abgebrochen ab S. 160. Ich kann die vorhandenen Rezensionen absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Es ist als ob ich ein völlig anderes Buch in der Hand halte. Am schlimmsten fand ich die Flashbacks von Joe in seiner Firma und diesem öden Computerprogramm.

I feel like such a cynic for not enjoying this, but I just could not stomach the cheese, especially towards the end. Bah-humbug. Plus, Joe, the protagonist, was such an irritating Nice Guy™ (or "failed Romantic", as Ironmonger put it), hero-boy. Ugh. This was the right time of year to attempt this book, but I guess I wasn't the right kind of reader...

Considering all the good reviews for this book, it probably just isn’t my cup of tea. It has a decent story that makes sense and likable characters, but I couldn’t bring myself to be excited about anything happening in this book.
