This is a great book for any Adventure Time fan. The sarcastic and dawning tone of Hunson Abadeer makes the book slightly irritable to read about halfway through the book. The book basically sums up the T.V. series in book form, containing information about character bios and wonderful images of the landscape and art of Adventure Time.

Rating Update 4/5/2019- 4 stars to 3 stars. Having skimmed over it, I have adjusted my review. The art is amazing but some sections are dull and the marginalia gets annoying.

Rating Update 5/16/2019- 3 stars to 2 stars. Large sections of it were dull. These large sections take up quite a bit of the book and the enjoyable parts cannot raise the rating to at least 3 stars.

Update 2 June 2019
Two stars to three stars. With the adoption of my new rating system, a three star rating is befitting. The reason behind this is answered well in the first rating update from April 5, 2019: the marginalia and some sections are dull but the art keeps the rating at three stars. Also, it was not mentioned before but the character bios synthesize information from the show that make it enjoyable to read. This book teeters between a two and three star rating, but it is closest now to three stars. Future findings could alter this.

Update 4 August 2019
Finding a correct rating for this book is difficult. I am split between my dislike of rereading it, since it'd be equivalent to reading out of an encyclopedia, my liking of the artwork, and the nostalgia for the series. I'm not sure why but whenever I see this book, I am filled with a strong feeling of disinclination, and feel that a two star rating is more appropriate. I feel repulsed to try and go through the book entirely (which would be helpful now to gather a rating) since I would not look through the book merely to look at the artwork, I would have to read the text along with it. But to rate the book at two stars because I do not want to reread it does not seem like the appropriate way of rating books. I wish I could consult my past self who had just finished reading this book. A three star rating for this book is a shaky rating.

Rating Update
I have lowered the rating of this book from three stars to two stars. The reason behind this is the repetition of knowledge explained in the encyclopedia that I already have knowledge of, as well as the marginalia. This disrupts the better pages of the encyclopedia and the beautiful art. A two star-rating is a balance between the unnecessary and beautiful content. Please read through previous sections in this review to understand what content belongs in which camp.

Update
There is a contradiction in the rating update from September 8, 2019, and the update from June 2, 2019. In the rating update from September 8, 2019, I wrote that "the repetition of knowledge explained in the encyclopedia that I already have knowledge" hurts the rating of the book, whereas in the update from June 2, 2019, I wrote that "the character bios synthesize information from the show that make it enjoyable to read". This is not enough to raise the volume to a 2.5 star-rating, since, when I had skimmed the book, I found large sections of two star-rated content (specifically the last section that became strange). The character bios do take up more than half of the book, though I am not sure if I enjoyed all of them (this I found by partially skimming the book again). A two star-rating is a safe rating.

It was either during the rating update for September 8, 2019, or a later analysis of the review when I skimmed through the book and was comfortable with a two star-rating.

Update
I have added one last sentence to the description of the 2P rating type, which is the rating for this book. Here is the description of the rating type: " A picture book or art book with nice art (three stars) taking up much of it, the rest of the art being two stars, but marginalia and notes that are dull and unnecessary. The marginalia and notes bring down the rating of the book to two stars".

Update
Based off of what I’ve written, it’s possible this book should receive a 1.5 star-rating. The lack of memory for how I felt towards the book, this absence noted in the previous updates as early as the first one, do make me wonder if to remove the rating all together since I’ve forgotten, but I’ll consider this rating a “legacy rating” of sorts. It also makes me wonder if I should change the rating from yellow with a grey outline to grey with a grey outline.

I’ve changed the empty and green colored “exact rating” cell in the “Goodreads 5.0.xlsx” spreadsheet to yellow and with the number “2” inside it, to reflect the uncertainty and current choice of rating.

This was a really fun, quick read that definitely possessed the same tone as the cartoon. Definitely a great read for anyone who is a fan of the show.

A fun read - and you know it's pretty true to character when you read it their voices!

It was interesting to see what I remembered from the episodes and stuff I had no clue on.

Got this from Reading Frenzy, signed by a million peoples! It's cool, read it in a heartbeat though, wish it were longer.
