I really enjoyed this. It was short, sweet and spicy. I loved Beau and Paynes relationship, they were honestly so cute together. Beau’s awkwardness was adorable and I love how Payne grounded him.

I’m not sure if I’m rating this 5 stars bc I’ve been outta the game all year or because it was good, but I had a lot of fun!

I listened to the audio which is *chefs kiss*.

Brothers Best Friend is always so playful because of the history of the characters and I thought that was captured pretty well. I also love how they took the jock/nerd trope and made it grown up by making the characters a Gym Teacher and a fantasy author.

The steamy scenes had me sweating and the fluff made me giggle. I also think it’s a great book one to a series because the characters and storylines are introduced very casually. I’m excited to see where the DMC takes me!

Heavy on the emotions, simple on the plot. This--despite the simplicity--still pulled my heartstrings so hard it was hard to breathe, and made me laugh, and made me anxious. The characters are incredibly relatable and awesome. Highly recommend this book.

Loved the unrequited love and adored Beau. Really enjoyed Payee’s jealousy too.

Solid emotional tumult but not turmoil. I would have liked a little more about Beau and him setting boundaries with people thinking he’s weird or needs to change. Otherwise super fun. Loved that the HEA gave Payne both professional and personal satisfaction. Not sure how I feel about the DMC supporting cast, will have to see how the rest of the books feel.

if a character’s name is beau I guarantee you I will love them

Payne is 40 and has just found out that his partner of 12 years has been cheating on him for 2 and filming it for OnlyFans. So he moved back home and ends up living his little brother's best friend who's had a crush on him since they were all in highschool. Shenanigans ensue.

This was very cute. It's light and fluffy, but still has some angst from the cheating plotline and the insecurities that go with having a crush for 20+ years and also the insecurities of having been cheated on. The writing was good, the chemistry was great between the characters, and I never felt like any part overstayed its welcome. Though I do wish the spice was present just a smidge more or that what we had went on a little longer.

I will probably read the rest of this series.
