I wasn't sure how to feel about this book to start, but somewhere along the way I was charmed. Beau especially captured my heart, his very relatable and his love regardless of the outcome was lovely.
Now Payne I was heartbroken for that first scene hits all the feels, as his ex cheating is revealed to him. I do wish their had been more closure, discussion with Kyle rather then it being so abrupt/cut off no real conclusion.
It felt all so weirdly convenient and messy, with regards to long relationship and Beau's crush for 20 years. I know it doesn't really matter as Payme quickly falls in love with Beau, and starts seeing the problems in his marriage once his out of it. Just something was off for me.
Anyway I adored the slowly building relationship as they live together, so many beautiful moments. The paper cranes messages, colouring in tattoos, the date in tent, fort and sword fighting. Beau's writing is a wonderful detail too, and Payne's admiration for him quirks & all is so lovely.
The way these two get together did frustrate me, but they're both so foolish and flawed that it works. Payne knowing Beau's crush and not wanting to lead on as not ready yet, then being all jealous and basically sabotaging Beau's date with Lee.
Beau is pushy too in his continued pursuit, when told Payne isn't ready for more. It's obviously not just a hook up, these two for older characters too just come across stupid at times.
Anyway let's say I had mixed feelings throughout and yet at the same time I enjoyed the overall romance. Along with glimpses at future characters, so will definitely give some of those a look as sound like fun.
Beau & Payne get their happy ending, the way they blend their lives together and still understand each others space

February 2023. MM romance about a newly divorced 40-something who moves back to his hometown and ends up as roommates with his brother’s best friend, who unbeknownst to him, has had a crush on him his whole life.
This was charming and sweet, with both characters falling for each other and being kind and supportive to one another. They both struggle with their own self-image and value but see all the wonderful things about the other one.
Some cute memorable scenes occur related to helping the roommate brainstorm for his romance fantasy novel, from an impromptu sword fight with an umbrella and broom to building a fort in thw living room with furniture to help plan a rescue mission into an impenetrable fortress.
Plus lots of sweet notes written on little paper cranes to one another left throughout the home when their work and sleep schedules don’t line up for a while.
Goes in the same category as N.R. Walker as super sweet, charming, and not at all toxic. Great when I’m in the right mood but might be too sweet for me most of the time when im looking for mysteries and crimes in my stories.
will definitely check out more.
Read on kindle unlimited, looks like some of their books are on Scribd in audiobook form as well.
“Roommate Arrangement” by Saxon James. Book 1 in the MM Romance series “Divorced Men’s Club.”

Ahhh these two were so gorgeous!
Payne has found out his husband has been cheating on him and he moved to his home town to start over. Here he reconnects with Beau - his brothers best friend who offers him a room to move into.
Beau has had feelings for Payne since they were teenagers and though he thinks that having Payne move in will help get rid of his feelings when he sees all of Paynes flaws.. but that obviously isn’t what happens.
I love Beau, he’s so sweet and kind, but also anxious and worried that he is weird but Payne tells him that his weird is perfect! Ah! They’re so lovely!
A fun story of restarting later in life, figuring out life and finding love - with some gorgeous spice in there too!

Eu gostei bastante do livro.
This was a solid 4 ⭐️read.
The divorced men’s club is a fun setting and Payne’s story was a really good way to introduce the group.
Beau was my favorite, such a great character. I loved his quirks, and the situations he got himself into in front of Payne were so cute, they just made me giddy. (I’d so read the book he was writing too

This was sweet and quite funny - Beau must be protected at all costs, and the caring and calm nature of Payne was the perfect mix to Beau's excessive energy!
The whole concept of the DMC was wonderful - a supportive and funny group of guys in their late 30s/early 40s helping each other coming to terms with their new reality and embracing a 'second chance' in life.
I listened to the audio, and it's always like coming home, being back in the SadenVerse!
The narrator did a great job, and it was easy to distinguish the two MCs from each other.
