Another sweet, warm story from Saxon James, this book was a lot of fun to read in a day.

These characters, like all of James’ men, are lovable and human. I really like how Beau’s neurodivergence is written. He’s shockingly relatable, flawed and hilarious. Payne has such a mature approach to getting himself back together, and making sure he cares for those he loves with real consideration. Their romance has a nice build, and though the third act wasn’t my favorite, I do love the happy ending these two were able to find together.

I recommend it! And I’m excited to read more in this series.

This was EXTREMELY CUTE and I enjoyed it a lot.

I love forced proximity/"and they were roommates!" romances, so it's not like I'm unbiased, but I also enjoyed their developing friendship/relationship and how they clearly complimented each other.

Definitely going to read more from this author.

I devoured this book and just adored Payne & Beau.  They were so cute together right from the start, and I loved seeing them going from friends & roommates to lovers.  I enjoyed the low angst that this story had - yes, there is some with Payne’s divorce and the circumstances around it, but I liked seeing characters in their late thirties & early forties actually acting like grownups when it come to relationships.  I loved how supportive they were of each other and how they accepted each other.

This was cute, swoony and a little steamy - I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the Divorced Men’s Club.

This boos was extremely tropey, but it felt original, not taking the obvious steps to get there. I loved it.

Saxon James

“You’re the one who was always meant for me.”

When a newly divorced Payne moves back into his small town, he needs a place to stay. So when his brother’s friend—Beau—offers up the spare bedroom, he doesn’t say no. Little does he know, however, that Beau has had a crush on him for about 20 years, so this is going to be a little bit more tricky than he thought.

Tropes:
— Brother’s friend
— Forced proximity
— Childhood crush

This is really cute! And I absolutely love the beginning of this series so far. Beau is a scatterbrained workaholic, and he is absolutely convinced that he needs to change who he is in order to find someone, but as Payne gets to know him, he disagrees. That was probably one of my favorite parts about the story because they really just loved each other for who they are, and there was no judgment for the things that they went through or the things that they feel. The two of them were really supportive of one another in every single way and they were always there for each other when they needed them. I really liked the bit of jealousy from Payne as he was trying to figure out his own feelings and the adorable paper cranes and coloring tattoos and everything in between. It’s just a really sweet story overall and I’m really excited to continue!
