I really enjoyed how different this story was from what I typically read, even though when you break it down it’s not that different lol

A Legacy of Storms and Starlight, by Victoria J. Price, is a medium-paced fantasy, with short chapters.

You get magic, fae and other creatures, in a world where humans despise the Faes and eradicated them.

I really enjoyed the story, right from the start, as it sucked you in immediately with the Prince's killing, the -almost- hanging, and the mysterious Fae man.

However, I did take some points away because although I was really interested in the plot, it got a bit dull afterwards and I started losing interest. BUT, it got better by 70% of the book and I was invested again. Maybe if the book was shorter, we wouldn't have that "boring" section in the middle? Some parts of the plots felt a little cliché too, but nothing too prevailing.

Zylah has a small owl companion and I loved him 🥹🦉. She meets other Faes and get close to them. You get romance, and to my surprise, a touch of spice 🌶️. I really wasn't expecting it, so when it came, let's just say I was pleasantly surprised!

I'm not a fantasy avid reader, but from what I've read so far, this book has its own stamp on the Fae world and Zylah's botanical touch is a great addition.

I was really surprised with the ending and I'd be interested to see what happens in book 2! But I also feel like it could be a stand alone as well, if you're not into series.

First person, single POV (FMC)
New adult (?) fantasy/romance
Found family
Fae/hidden royalty
Love triangle vibes
Great world building
Mild/moderate spice

This was the perfect fix as someone who is always feeling the urge to reread ACOTAR! I’m honestly so confused how this book isn’t more popular. It should be all over booktok. How does it have less than 1k reviews?? The plot twists, the banter, the narration style

This was good!! I almost abandoned it bc i was so annoyed with the way the author described Zylah, but i loved Zylah herself. I really thought Raif would be evil but Omg i was so wrong, i loved him. Holt is superior tho, and zylah is definitely his mate bc how did he find her otherwise. Marcus better die and Rose needs to get her act together. Also zylahs communication skills suck shes always whispering and no one hears her and never finishes her sentences. Like it could be a murder trial and when it’s her turn to speak she’d just be like: “i…i was at…” and then start crying. And the whole time she could have just said I was at the mall when it happened so I couldn’t have done it. But that’s an author problem not a character problem bc Zylah would never actually act like that idk what weird obsession the author has with making her be tiny, She’s still strong! Overall pretty good, i just want to get to know holt more bc i was so excited for that and then it didn’t really happen. But I was hooked to this, i liked that there was always something happening!
