I love stories full of interesting coincidences. These two have a lot of familial connections. Lucky is the baby if his close knit family who is stunned to learn that his grandmas best friend has a grandson she has never met. Saint thinks his whole family is dead and is stunned to learn that his grandmother is alive in his fathers home town.
Lucky is bisexual but only his best friend knows. Saint is bisexual and everyone knows. Lucky grew up in a small town and still lives there. Saint grew up in L.A. and still lives there.
Lucky is attracted and has no idea what to do about it. Saint is attracted but thinks lucky is too judge. Sparks fly and after getting to know one another, they start to see one another in a different light.
The attraction is hot and The way Saint helps Lucky see that his desires are sexy and fine is beautiful. I also really loved the open communication about consent and protection and AIDS prevention.
Enjoyed this story. Not sure if I’ll read the other book but I liked this one.

Family ties
Regrets can eat you alive, especially when they come with family ties. Sometimes forgiveness doesn’t come easily, but you’ll feel like a weights been lifted when it does.

The writing style isn’t my thing. I was going to push through but suddenly decided, why bother? I had no interest in what happened to them.
This book was great. I didn't expect a smutty book to hit so close to home and hit me so hard. I read this at the right time and at a time I didn't know I needed to. Their relationship was so cute. I loved the family aspect of this book and how strong it was. I wasn't expecting to feel as devastated as I did at one point in the book. But it was just so good. I recommend it to everyone.

Wowzer does this story cover so many relevant topics!! Saint and Lucky are two people looking for something in life, love, family, and within themselves. Lucky contacts Saint about his long lost family member, Saint wants to discover more about his family but doesn't know if he wants to change his current lifestyle. The two of them find truths that they didn't want to believe and new connections that change their lives. There are so much LGBTQA+ topics and conversations within this story that I am so happy that I read this book, this month at this time. Beautiful, sexy, and heartfelt.
This specific video book review will be included in the June 2019 wrap-up.

How beautiful is this story?!
Everything about it is perfect. Their backstories, that brought them to meeting. The way their lives intertwined, present and past. Saint’s relationship with family and the hurt, pain, and love that comes with it. Lucky’s self-discovery and finding himself. Lucky and Saint finding each other, and themselves within it, everything else ultimately culminating in their love.
“Love rarely makes sense, and it damn well shouldn’t. There’s no room for logic in love, and once you find it, you fight for it, because it’s a rare and beautiful thing”
The writing is also stunning. I love Riley’s writing style, flow, and pace. The perfect balance of narration and dialogue. The emotion that the description of simple gestures like Saint running his hands through Lucky’s curls can evoke. Every word she writes is perfectly placed. And the narrator, Sean Crisden, absolutely captures the story beautifully. His poetic voice lulls you along with so much emotion, feels like he wrote the words himself. He was stunning.
I can’t wait to finish the duology and get the rest of their story.

This love story packed in so much emotion. Not just between the couple, but also with their families and best friend. I loved seeing Saint and Lucky together though. Saint likes to keep his emotional distance, but he is so accepting and easy to open up to. This is just what Lucky needs after repressing his desires for so long. The thing about Lucky/Tyler is that he is a delicate balance of masculinity and femininity that is so refreshing and also, hot. Plus, I just have to mention how awesome the bisexual representation was. Especially in the way that their identities didn’t get erased once they were together.
