Note: you must read the epilogue and prologue in order to complete the story (then why not just make them part of the story?)

This story can best be summed up as: “Rich horrible people do horrible things to each other with next to no resolution on the plot.” Very fun to read (crazy to think that some people actually live like this), but a super disappointing ending.

A bunch of rich white families go to a rich white town on an island for the summer and have a bunch of first world problems, most of which they have created themselves.

The wealthy, summer residents of Salcombe on Fire Island are expecting it to be another summer filled with tennis, swimming and socializing, but as summer goes on, their lying, one-up-man-ship and scheming starts to catch up with everyone.  Secrets come to light and, for some, there are dire consequences.

This book was like watching and episode of Desperate Housewives or The Stepford Wives.  The characters' behavior was misconduct was so distasteful, but I had to see how it all turned out. There  were a lot of characters to get straight in the beginning and a few far fetched scenes, but overall it was an entertaining, summer read.

Thanks to the Macmillan Audio Influencer Program for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

6.5/10 Thank you to the publishers for allowing me to read this before it is released in May. This one is all about stealing, cheating, and lying. I had high hopes and unfortunately, they didn’t follow through. I found this book to have far too many side characters, constant repetition of what happened (according to said side characters), and far too much description to keep me entertained. Overall, a nice story idea, but I feel like it could’ve been done in a better way. Not one I would recommend, but I still appreciate the opportunity in allowing me to read!
