One of my favourite collections of the comic strip.
Collecting several stories from DWM before the Paul McGann film was shown, this starts the strongest run of stories for a long time.
Full of interesting plot lines, lots of blood and gore, all our favourite companions and a new enemy to haunt the Doctor for some time.
The art work is very good, with a couple of stories with their own look because they are separate from the ongoing storyline. Characters actually look like the actors on screen, they behave how you would expect them at that point with their travels with the Doctor.
And the Doctor? There are five versions on show here, and each behaves as you would expect them to from their screen time. This is the first time we see a pre tv version of the first Doctor and Susan. And the Seventh turns up for Ground Zero itself, and he's that bridge between Survival and the Movie. And the Threshold are a clever enemy.
I love their return later on, and the fall out from what happens here.
Highly recommended as a starting point for the comic strip series, running nicely into the eight and onwards. Brace yourself because the stories that follow after this are some of my favourite. I miss good stories.
