This book was a serious eye-opener about how our lifestyles impact the world. I knew about and visited Beth Terry's blog, but this is one of the best purchases I've made, because it is going into my arsenal on better, more environmentally friendly living. The book is filled with advice and resources on how to reduce, reuse, and recycle the plastic we are surrounded by. Really, once you realize just what plastic does to our environment and animals, you can't stop from seeing just how much of our lives is consumed by plastic (in the grocery store, in our clothes, in our offices, in our toys, in our entertainment, and in our packaging). Practically everything we own is made of plastic or has plastic in it.
Terry covers what plastics are out there, what they're made of, and the health risks related to each (carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, etc.). From there, she tackles different areas of life that we can find alternatives to the wasteful (and dangerous) plastic, like cutting single-use plastic out of our lives (those awful plastic shopping bags, drinking straws, plastic utensils and plates, take-out containers). With this book, one has the means to begin decluttering and deplasticing their life.
I would recommend this book to everyone. It is a wonderful, eye-opening, and instructive book.

Potentially life changing book. Not only tells you why you should reduce your use of plastic but gives you many ways on how you can make an impact. Recommended highly!!
