Ice Cream Bus: ⭐⭐½. So weird.
Clubhouse: ⭐⭐. Too random, but the end was decent.
The Smoking Club: ⭐⭐. What the actual fuck.
Den of the Sleeping Demon: ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Loved it. I do love a horrific yet romantic endings.
The Gift Bearer: ⭐½. Meh...
House of Puppets: ⭐⭐⭐⭐. So creepy!
Overall, I give this ⭐⭐⭐½. Junji Ito is always a strange but good time.

this was an interesting collection... the pattern I see between all of these stories is that they all have unexplained abrupt endings, some of which don't make sense at all. the first few stories basically stopped midway through the story as if it was left incomplete which I find so weird. House of Puppets was my favorite story of the volume, the only one which I had previously read and enjoyed. the story is more fleshed out, as are the characters. the ending was also not as bad as the stories that came before it.

Fun collection of Junji Ito short stories. Maybe the best of these so far? Couple clunkers but Clubhouse, Secondhand Record, and House of Puppets are all fantastic shorts.
