Pretty art with a disturbing story. Asahi is suffering so much, and so is Subaru, who is abused by an evil mother. It's basically a horror story but very cutesy looking.
I really like this series so far. I'm learning what I like in each Shoujo genre so fantasy is always good and certain angsty high school dramas are awesome.
Asahi is taken away to a strange time and sacrificed by the village people to the Water Dragon God. She's young and in an unfamiliar time so she's got a modern attitude which means she isn't easily impressed by the Water Dragon God. The art is beautiful and the storyline is cool so far.

This was a really good start to the story. I'm excited to continue the series!
While trying to find newer manga series to order for the library system, this one kept popping up. Lots of good reviews, or at least a lot of buzz - so I figured I would purchase it, give it a shot. Despite how bright and pretty the cover is, this first book can get quite dark... or as dark as possible when it is only four chapters.

This manga has a very clean and cute art style, and the story is more compelling than I thought it would be. I'm a little unsure about the situation between the water god, considering he's an adult, but I look forward to how it will play out.
That was a lot better than I was expecting. I thought it was just going to be a replay on certain things like the bride of water God and other Mingus like that involving water Godson gods of the Japanese and Korean nature. The story was very unique and has a very different spin to it. I really like the heroic aspect that they're putting on it and I hope that in the process of these children growing up they become stronger and can fight those that oppose them.
