Diesen schönen Manga gibt es, soweit ich weiß, leider nur auf Englisch. Allerdings sollte man ihn mit Schulenglischkenntnissen gut lesen können.
Es geht um Asahi, die behütet bei ihren Eltern aufwächst und plötzlich in eine Parallelwelt gezogen wird. Diese Welt ist eher primitiv. Der junge Subaru findet sie, freundet sich mit ihr an und bringt sie in sein Dorf. Erst wirkt es so, dass Asahi dort, auf Bitten von Subaru, freundlich aufgenommen wird, aber es zeigt sich schnell, dass dieser Manga nicht so verträumt und süß ist wie sein Cover. Mehr möchte ich allerdings nicht verraten. Es spielt natürlich, der im Titel erwähnte Wassergott, noch eine große Rolle und ich fand ihn einfach perfekt beschrieben für einen Gott. Menschen sind für ihn wie für die meisten Menschen interessante Insekten/Tiere. Er beobachtet Asahi, die er sich als Braut nehmen will, mit naiv neugierigem Interesse. Er erforscht sozusagen das Verhalten von ihr und ist einigermaßen fasziniert. Dabei bleibt er aber eben naiv und kühl. Er merkt nicht, dass Asahi langsam dahinsiecht. Wie ein Insekt in einem Glas. Dieses Konzept fand ich sehr, sehr interessant und bin gespannt, wie es weiter geht.
Der Zeichenstil ist sehr süß, aber wie gesagt, sollte das niemanden täuschen. Es ist nicht super creepy oder brutal, aber im Zusammenhang mit dem recht leichtgläubigen, naivem Verhalten von
Asahi und dem süßen Zeichenstil finde ich einige Szenen schon recht hart, traurig und ich fühlte mit ihr mit.
Ich möchte definitiv weiterlesen.

The story starts when this young (and can I say rather sassy for being terrified) girl falls through a water portal to another realm where she if offered up to be the bride (aka sacrifice) of the water dragon/god of this village. There she meets the very monotone water dragon and learns of her fate.
I liked this but there wasn't much that really caught my attention. The concept of different gods for different elements is fun and they seem rather cheeky (except the water dragon) but I'm still not sure if that was enough to hook me. I'm going to continue in hopes that volume 2 will hook me because the final scenes of this first volume made me think things are going to escalate in the next one. But, I can definitely say that this will be a series that I will be getting through the library rather than purchasing.

Subaru, a local boy, attempts to save her from this date but will his efforts have the desired outcome?
Thus is actually more interesting than I thought it’d be! I’m actually really anxious to find out what happens next! So, I’ll definitely be picking up the next volume~

Weird. In a good way. Danger, drama, sacrifice, so on. Interesting character designs - especially the gods.
