Just like my love for Miko I fucking love Anna. She's just perfect. Leo was less than perfect, I was much more of a Dean girl.

One Tree Hill characters go to Hogwarts for the mafia. Predictable plot and character development make the slow pace feel even slower.

Not me thinking I could read a couple of chapters before bed and read the rest tomorrow... except I couldn't put it down. I stayed up until 2 am to finish it in one shot. Sophie Lark's books are addicting. Leo and Anna are everything I was hoping they would be. I love a good friends to lovers romances so I didn't mind that it was a bit of a slow burn. Anna is very much Miko's daughter and Leo is her perfect match. I hated Dean but at the same time, I understood him. He's lonely and broken and just wants to be loved. I'm interested to see how he redeems himself in The Bully.

While I have never read anything of this author prior and I know this is a second generation series, it did not take away from the enjoyment of this story. The Freshman is deep, raw and emotional with so many unexpected moments. The triangle created between Anna, Dean and Leo is really intense. I found myself in love with the concept of the story and wanting to know more about the Kingmakers as a whole as well. It is very layered and complex and I enjoyed every moment of it. I am really looking forward to what is to come with this series.

This book is the perfect palate cleanser following an intense book series. It was like watch TV! Especially with the enjoyable art located throughout the storyline. I look forward to plucking up book two!
