Now that I've completed this series, I can state unequivocally that Talia Hibbert is one of the best romcom authors currently writing. She writes books that are actually funny and completely focused on the romance, both things that are sorely lacking in most of the newer romcoms being released. The balance of humour, steam, and mushy romantic moments is just right. I'm not sure if this one or Dani's book is my favourite (edit: upon further reflection, Dani's book is my favourite), but I enjoyed the hell out of this entire trilogy.

I loved how Eve's chaotic brand of charm balanced out Jacob's calm and orderly ways. Yet deep down, they had a lot in common and forge a deep connection. Their banter was top notch, especially in the first half. They don't like each other but they never go too far in saying something truly hurtful. It was wonderful seeing Eve understand why she might be different (undiagnosed autism) and connecting with Jacob, who has diagnosed autism, on that level too. It was just utterly delightful and I smiled the whole way through. The only thing I didn't like was that I could see the third-act breakup coming from a mile away and it filled me with dread, though I appreciate that it wasn't dragged out for ages. The way it unfolded felt a bit unnatural though, from the way Eve's family acted to the miscommunication.

Really enjoyed this one, mainly because of the autistic MCs. The spice was good too ;) very Hallmark movie feel. Very cozy read.

This may be my favorite of the series! I love Eve and Jacob, I love the B&B setting, and I love the messages about learning things about yourself and finding what works for you.

This is clearly a book written during the pandemic. It’s escapist, and Eve is extremely lovely.
I am so glad about the neuroatypical representation and the Brown family reunion. And this book is definitely someone else’s 5 stars. The romance was just a tad fast for me, and Jacob is more controlling (in a consensual way) than I like. I also just don’t do pet names.

But!! Eve. God I wish to be friends with Eve. And the playlist rocked.

Talia Hibbert did it again!
With Act Your Age, Eve Brown she had me squealing, kicking and giggling over the story of Eve and Jacob.

I‘m glad now that I didn’t dnf the book just because Jacob Wayne was very similar to my ex boss at the beginning. But as I continued it turned out that Jacob has a soul and is a very lovable person.

I could also really relate to Eve. It was like looking into a mirror and after her story she ended up being my favourite Brown sister.

I can’t wait to read more from Talia Hibbert.

Romance novels are not typically my jam because they’re predictable and unrealistic and juvenile and way too sappy. Enemies to lovers never seems feasible to me and as a subgenre I always think it’s a bit too over the top. This enemies to lovers romance novel didn’t make me feel any of those things. It told a story — a complicated one — of growth, love, identity, and hard work. The characters are so loveable and their banter is to die for. Not to mention the spice in this book — while only occurring a few times — is well worth the wait.
