Easily the second best of the (so far) 4-novel Odd Thomas series. Second only to the original Odd Thomas book.
It had lingering dead, famous spirits (although not enough Frank, IMHO), drama, tension, loss, and unanswered questions. Everything that made the first one great, minus the predictability of the 3rd novel, [book:Brother Odd].
HIGHLY recommended to Dean Koontz and Odd Thomas fans.

Fast paced but felt like it was only the first half of a longer book.
slow-paced
The latest book of Odd's life wasn't as great as his first three. However, there were many great quotes to take from it. But it didn't leave me with that sense of euphoria or joy at the end like the others. Nor was the story as riveting. It seemed a little incomplete. Is there a book to follow soon to clear this up?
Very strange book. I had a hard time getting through it.

Seems like Koontz just promised another Odd book and had to deliver. He introduces a weird pregnant girl named Annamarie, who apparently acts just like his dead ex girlfriend. But we learn nothing about her, except that she's real mysterious and pregnant. Maybe he'll ellaborate in the next book, but the story in this one was so boring. Don't sacrifice a story to build-up for a later story.
This was not a favorite. It began interestingly then fizzled with too many unanswered questions.

I did not see the end coming with this one normally I can pattern recognize the ends of most books but this one caught me off guard. Dean took a turn with the series on this one I think you can start to see that he's trying to end it.
