What is UP with this book?!? đŸ˜±đŸ€Ż
I
. I should have read the trigger warnings beforehand, so I wouldn’t be surprised, that’s on me 😬😬
But
 like
 Neil is
he just needs to be protected, and the foxes are built different. That’s a compliment (I think).
The development that the relationship between Neil and the foxes,
specially with Andrew and Kevin
is insane, wild and I’m here for it. I guess you could call it slow burn, but not romantically, like, a found family slow burn, but VEEEERY slow lol
The ending is weird
like, the last chapter didn’t felt like a last chapter, the only thing it felt like an ending was the final quote (which, cute), but I strongly recommend having the second book at hand to start immediately after finishing this one.

Also vorab: das Buch wĂŒrde serious Trigger-Warnungen benötigen.

Read For:
Gay Sports
Hurt/Comfort
Chaotic Gays
Found Family
College Setting

This book is addictive and all things chaotic from the characters to the plot.  While it is filled with problems and poor choices it’s such a comfort series that I couldn’t imagine not re-reading it time and time again.

While there isn’t much that happens in this book (compared to the other two in the series) this book gets the setting out in place, you get to know the characters and no I have no idea why Nicky is so damn creepy in this book but trust me he gets better in the other two books.

It’s fun re-reading this series because you can see the slow burn settle in while if you’re reading this for the first time you’ll be just as confused and oblivious as Neil.  It’s truly amazing.

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5)
Release Date: 15, January 2013
POV: Third Person
Spice: n/a
Rep: Gay (SC), BIPOC (SCs), Mental illness (everyone)

This shit was good. I’ve heard about it for years and finally decided to read it (two days before finals) and I couldn’t put it down. It is very much “oh that’s fucked up what” but it is a roller coaster that you never want to stop riding.

I’ve heard a lot about the couples? in this series, and this book doesn’t have any. It’ll probably be later on in the series. Or maybe I’m just missing things rn.

This is my all time favorite trilogy! I absolutely love this series and it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Note: this book is VERY, VERY dark!! Please look at the content warnings because this book deals with a lot of triggers and trama.

I adore this book, which is very embarrassing to admit.

If you like terribly written books with amazing characters, then I recommend this book.

To be honest, the first book in this series is more of a really really long first chapeter; but if you can get through it, the series does become better.

The plot doesn’t make sense.  Following Neil Josten, a serial killers son who’s been running from his father all his life and has finally decided to stop running in order to follow his life long dream of becoming an “exy” star (a made up, extremely dangerous sport) on an collage team made up of lost young people. And you may be thinking “Why would I want to read a book about a fictional sport” well I thought that too, and trust me you shouldn’t want to read it it’s shit.

The opinions on the characters  change with each reader, however If you don’t like any of them there’s a very VERY slight chance of you liking this book.
