Mafia lacrosse sounds ridiculous until you’re 230 pages in and reaching for the second book like a drug addict with their next fix
Kind of insane, but that's what makes it fun... you really have to buy into the fantasy of teenagers having insane gang problems but i can swallow a lot. Neil Josten is a character who hearkens back to my days reading HP OC fanfic where the main characters were inevitably tortured and tragic and determinedly alone and the fic was about learning what friends means. I am still partial to this flavour of personal journey tbh... I do like that he is so stupid insane about made up stickball that when it comes to survival or a few games he's like Let Me On The Court Right Now... I can respect that

Non ho potuto fare a meno di rileggere tutta la trilogia e rispetto all'ultima volta l'ho apprezzata anche di più, soprattutto questo primo libro! Ho avuto per tutto il tempo gli occhi a cuoricino per Neil. Alzo il mio voto a 4.5 per questo primo capitolo.

Sono entrata anch'io nel tunnel di "All for the game" e sono contenta che in italiano abbiamo il volume unico che racchiude tutta la trilogia perché a mio parere questo primo libro è solo introduttivo e non porta avanti quasi per nulla la trama centrale e leggerlo da solo non ha molto senso, per questo ho dato un voto non troppo alto.
Mi sento già legata al protagonista e ad alcuni dei personaggi principali però trovo che gli altri personaggi sono non sono ancora stati approfonditi del tutto.
Ho apprezzato molto che il romance in questo libro sia sotto lo 0 perché è molto in linea con la caratterizzazione del protagonista.
Sto già leggendo il secondo libro e sono molto curiosa di continuare la lettura.

Idk how I feel but I'm curious for more. Feels a little thematically incomplete (but not threadbare) for a first volume--wanted a bit more of a conclusive story arc but I see where its going

This was like teenager torture porn? i guess?? as a person who reads fantasy books I’m more than able to suspend disbelief but I just couldn’t do it for this book. There was no chance of immersion because everyone is so extreme and nothing is relatable??
Who calls their main character NEIL?????
Ironically, I did kind of enjoy the Kevin/Neil/Andrew trifecta and would probably like to read more were it not for like...the plot. Am I still this girl who simps over fanfic bad boys? Apparently. I disgust me.

There are some scenes that are not quite clear, specially when it comes to the transition between places and scenes.
Also, it is kind of introductory, which I guess was boring.
But putting this aside, I liked the characters and how dark it is.
