True everlasting love can survive anything and Rome and Rose will prove that over and over. Rumors, society, secrets, and their stations in society won’t keep them apart. I loved these two from the start because they instantly have something between them and feel safe with each other. There’s no judgment for their pasts and they push each other to break away from their safety net.

I was holding my breath when everything seemed to blow up with the rumor and the ball. But everything brought them together in the end. I was not expecting who started the rumor or why. His family is very unique and perfect for a couple like them.

Rose deserves a powerful love and to be the lady she was meant to be. I loved seeing her come out of her shell more and help him when he needed it most. I applaud her for how she shut down the rumor because that took a lot of courage.

Rome is a man that has let one thing in the past eat at him and he deserves love. I loved that he saw her for her and seemed to understand her better than most. He needed someone like her to push him to do what his heart wanted.

It was well written and enjoyable. Both Pen & Hugh were flawed but likeable. Both made mistakes and neither was perfect but you could see where each was coming from and that meant there was an equality to their relationship, its problems and the resolution.

I am keen to read more in this series.

Lady Be Good is the fifth book in the Lord Love a Lady series, but you do not need to have read any other Annabelle Anders books to enjoy this one. Lady Be Good works wonderfully as a standalone title. That being said, you do get a better understanding of side characters if you have read the other books in the Lord Love a Lady series. I have only read book four, Lady At Last, and it did not lessen my enjoyment – although it did leave me curious about the other stories in the series.

Whether you’re new to Annabelle Anders or you’re already a fan, Lady Be Good is a book that will hook you. From the very first page you’re pulled into the story, being hit with all the feels from the onset. You fall in love with the characters, you fall in love with their story, and you will find it difficult to put the book down. Once I started, I could not stop. I was lost to it, leaving me to finish the book in a single sitting. It’s the best sort of addictive, making it more than worth the read.

There was so much depth to the characters, offering more than just a standard historical romance romp. There was emotion throughout, drama that intrigues, and elements that are rare to see in the genre. Although I have not read many Annabelle Anders books, she has earned her way onto my list of favourite writers in the genre. With Lady Be Good, I’ve concluded it will take a lot of hard work from other authors to remove her from my top three.

Without a doubt, this was a fabulous story (it’s as beautiful as that breath-taking cover) that will have you hooked throughout. Before the next Annabelle Anders release – I need the next book in the series soon, as I’m super curious about the next story that is to be told – I need to get up to date on the authors other work, as I’m in desperate need of more.

This book was sad almost the entire way through. Roman, Viscount Darlington needs a wife. He had been betrothed the previous year but had been left at the altar and now there are terrible rumors going around about him. Rose Waring is the daughter of a Baron who has gambled away the family money. Rose is now working as a maid to her friend from school.
The two meet at a house party at Christmas and while the attraction is there how can a Viscount ever consider a maid as a suitable wife. He starts out by offering to make her his mistress which she refuses but that doesn't stop the attraction. Meanwhile, her employer/friend Penelope is trying to match her widowed sister-in-law with Rome.
This romance seems to have no way to work even though the reader is hoping for a Happily Ever After between these two. Just when things seems to be going good, scandal occurs and it looks like everything will fall apart.
Annabelle Anders has done a wonderful job of writing characters that you can't help but love.
I received an advanced copy of this book.
