Prefect introduction to cozy fantasy !
The story felt like a warm blanket without making me bored. I loved the characters and how they all interacted (special shout out to Thimble).
I see why some people might not like it as much because of how the plot is not the main focal point but the vibes got me.

This was my first cozy romance, and it's definitely 5 stars for me! ⭐ Although I was initially disoriented by the timeline, I quickly realized the story was cleverly structured, starting with the main character's past. Once I grasped the premise, the story quickly gained momentum and flowed together seamlessly. I was particularly drawn to Viv's storyline—her desire to leave her past behind and open a coffee shop was compelling. It was fascinating to see her pursue her dreams while navigating the challenges that arose, including the arrival of a certain love interest. It was a delightful read! ☕💖

I picked this up as a cozy read, and it was! As a D&D nerd I can appreciated the setting a lot, and it wasn't too distracting either (as often the case in high fantasy). There were a couple language/spelling mistakes but I could quickly brush them off thanks to the engaging story and lovable characters. Very cute, very wholesome and a pleasure to read :)

Side note: I would probably like this book more of I drank coffee lol

I love this story and the special edition is beautiful.  Last time I read it, I gave it a 5, but on reading again, I felt it deserved a 4.
Mainly, the plot with the Madrigal bothers me. First, that Viv can’t pay the monthly dues to the local crime boss on principal, but she finds it acceptable to pay them through pastry. Seems like a bit of a plot hole. Next, that the Madrigal is written as sort of a more sympathetic character after this, despite the fact that she is in fact still a crime boss who demands payments from everyone whether they can pay or not. Just because she helps Viv, it’s still a fact that she’s hustling other businesses through her gang of thugs.
