A welcoming cast of characters in a cosy setting.  A perfect weekend read I found easy to escape into.

A little adventure and fantasy elements such as mythical creatures but a lot of heart. Reading about Viv starting her coffee shop felt like a warm hug with a cast of welcoming friends. I also loved the small town atmosphere found in Thune, despite it being portrayed as a thriving river city. The prequel story titled "Pages to Fill" is a welcome supplement to the original story, and I'm happily looking forward to spending more time with Viv and some of her poeple in the prequel novel.

If I wasn't so fucking tired from staying up late to reas this book, I'd probably be sobbing. Truly fantastic book for anyone who loves the found family trope. Very manageable high fantasy for anyone who might need an introduction (or a convincing) to that genre.

Ouch, this was TOO CUTE! I loved it, it was like a warm, dungeons-and-dragons-coded hug.

Cozy fantasy is a genre I can really get into.

Never really tried “cozy fiction” before, but I had a good time. The cast was wholesome, small but varied, and they cared for one another. The food descriptions made me hungry.

It’s not full of twists and turns nor was it one of those fantasy books that’ll drown a reader in lore, which is a plus for me. Like the Snoopy helicopter ride at King’s Island, you know where it’s going and it’s a relaxing ride
aside from the fire,  but even that wasn’t too bad — in the book, not the Snoopy ride.
