Dating Roulette was a cute friends to lovers romance. Let me just say, I never really found a book that do this trope justice, some are good but not this level of greatness!
We begin in the past with the back story of two teens, Tristan and Bexley as she storms into his life, telling his best friend, Adam that they are over for good and then claims Tristan as her very own new best friend. He always thought that she is off-limits, you know, bro code and all. But years have passed and Bex still have yet to find the one. So, Tristan comes up with the idea that maybe he should get on Bex dating roulette and see if he can make it passed the seven dates. Another reason is because he always had feelings for her, but didn't want them to get in weird situation and Bexley never thought of him that way. Or maybe she did?

A different take on overcoming the dating game and childhood crushes.
Tristan knew the moment he met Bexley that she would be important in his life. Too bad that she just dumped his best friend and bro code states she's completely off limits. Instead, they strike up a friendship. One that spans throughout the remainder of high school into college and after. Over 10 years worth of friendship where Tristan has watched Bex dispose of guys and dates for frivolous reasons from wearing tassled shoes to how he eats. Something shifts in their relationship. She has never openly hit on him let alone kissed him. He can't get that drunken kiss out of his mind. He formulates a plan to win her over like his best friend told him to do years ago when he gave him permission to date Bex. He chickened out then. Now, he knows what Bex needs. He will do everything to give it to her.
Bex is looking for perfection. She doesn't need numerous dates to figure out whether or not the guy fits the bill. How dare Tristan challenge her to dating the next person for seven dates! She hates to admit that very few have ever made it to seven--hell if she's being honest most don't make it past the third date. What Tristan proposes next blows her mind. How can she refuse? What happens if perfection isn't met? How important is perfection anyway besides he's the one she measures all others by. What could go wrong?

Looking for the perfect quick read to end off the summer? If you love a good slow-burn, tension filled romance then Dating Roulette is the perfect book for you. This was my first novel by D. Kelly and I’ve already added a few more of her books to my “To Be Read” list!
Dating Roulette introduces readers to main characters, Bexley and Tristan. For years, Tristan has watched Bexley playing dating roulette with man after man, but no one has made it past the coveted date 7. Each time a new man enters her life, Tristan fears that he will be replaced as best friend and lose his chance to roll the dice with Bexley himself.
The best friends to lover’s trope is one of my personal favourites, but I find it’s also a trope that a lot of writers seem to struggle with. Sometimes because the two characters have been so close for so long there isn’t much depth to their story. Fortunately, this was not the case with Dating Roulette. It felt like such a natural progression for the two characters, and the familiarity between the two added to the depth of their relationship. I found that they still had a lot to learn about each other and therefore the reader got to dive into their character a little more.
My only real issue I had with the story came from the conflict between Bexley and Tristan towards the end. I feel like there wasn’t a big enough issue between Bexley and Tristan to warrant Tristan’s response. I’m not sure if the author was trying to make sure that both characters were forgivable in that moment, but it felt like conflict was tip-toed around instead of actually giving them something to truly overcome.
Overall, Dating Roulette was a very easy book to fall into. I loved the concept of Dating Roulette and I thought it was a really clever way to bring these two friends together.

What are your hard no's when it comes to dating? Do you have a time limit of dates before you move on?
Meet Bexley - The serial dater that never gets beyond date seven with her guys. It's not like she's doing it intentionally. She just has standards. LOTS of standards...
Now meet Tristan, Bexley's best friend and roommate. He's watched her go through what he calls the dating roulette since high school.
Now he wants a turn.
I loved this story. This story was cute and fun at first and then got a little more serious as the story progressed. The author's storytelling sucked me in from the first page and kept me glued until the end. I love easy reads like this! This was my first read by her but it will definitely not be my last!

Bexley has very strict rules for dating. If a guy breaks one of those rules, that's it, no second chance. Tristan is tired of watching his best friend go from guy to guy with no hope for a future. When Tristan convinces Bexley to let him date her, maybe he will get farther than anyone else.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice quick read that held my attention really well. Both Bexley and Tristan were amazing characters who had insane chemistry. I loved them getting to know each other in a deeper way that was different than being best friends for 10 years. I loved the dates that they went on and I loved their relationship. I feel like they both way overreacted to a few things and that bugged me. But overall, this book is amazing! I loved it so much!
