This one was a quick read, and a slow burn, closed door romance. Banter wasn't always there, since our characters could be a bit awkward at times, or not sure if they were reading the situation right. However, all around dialogue was great, and I was smiling so much while reading this.

I loved the representation of the publishing side of writing. How quickly things can change when a book does well, rapid tour dates, and so many moving pieces. Especially when you've used a male pseudonym and hired someone to do all media appearances for you.

I really liked how Daphne and Chris's relationship developed and changed as their situation did. How much they talked things through (of course until the one time they didn't) and were clear they wanted to be on the same page before jumping into anything more physical.

The chaos of the book tour and their deception was so well handled. Now that I've actually attended some author events, I can only imagine how chaotic the other side and background of an event can be, but how rewarding at the same time.

This was a fun and cute read for my travels to and from work!

The plot was super fun and interesting, and the shenanigans that brought our mc’s together made my heart super happy! Their romance made a lot of sense and a lot of the time was either goofy and sweet or swoon worthy!!!

I wasn’t a fan at all of the third act breakup, especially since we’d avoided so many miscommunication tropes throughout the beginning of the novel- which made me really happy!!

Daphne and Chris are such fun characters, Chris is a good and Daphne is a badass and I love them 🫶🏼

This was FUN! Yes, lacking some depth (2D side characters and flat/straightforward main character backstories), but not every read needs to have heaviness or complexity to be enjoyable. I particularly liked real Chris (and yes, math/finance is sexy. I will be taking no further questions at this time).

I really enjoyed this. Chris is so swoony and I love that he’s a nerd in a hot man’s body. My exact type.

2.5 stars

This was so ridiculously average that I've already forgotten what the plot was. I do know that I relatively enjoyed it, though. I would've liked the guy (forgot the character names too oops) to be more of a himbo. I love a ginormous man that's just a fucking idiot. Think The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. That's what I was hoping for.

I was super excited for the premise, but the book itself didn't live up to its potential. I'd definitely read one of her books again, though.
