Well... this was a bit of a bummer.
The pacing was pretty bad. Like, the fastest most uninteresting ending...ever.
And relationship wise, there were things that happened in the second book that were just forgotten or moved past so quickly I had whiplash.
I still enjoyed the mythology just could have used alot more of it.

Also, the only thing worse than a love triangle is a USELESS love triangle.

Thanks to netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

Ending a series is always a bittersweet moment. Specially a series like Beasts of Prey, that never failed to warming my heart. This was such a consistent and enjoyable series, with great characters that I will miss dearly and an amazing worldbuilding that I will not forget. Beasts of War gave us an unexpected but so satisfying ending and I’m so thankful for it.

As a final book, Beasts of War caught me by surprise. There were gods and mythical creatures and so many adventures in such a short time even with time ticking. I didn’t felt it as a last book until the very end, what was a bit anti-climatic in my opinion. But there were so many great and unexpected moments and the final was such a gift. I think it was just perfect for this series and I loved it with all my heart. That epilogue was everything.

Overall, Ayana wrote a engaging and addictive plot, there’s no doubt. I loved the vibe, the aesthetic and the mythology that gave it life. And I really love its characters, they’re all so interesting and unique. There were some random and too easy choices regarding some of them, that I prefered it had been made in other way, I will not deny but, in general, I’m satisfied with how things ended, specially for Koffi and Ekon. They went through so much but never gave up, and I’m so proud. These two will stay with me for sure.

So yes, there were some things I didn’t like so much in this book, but it was still a very good and solid series, with a great storyline. And the end was too good. I definitely recommend this series and I can’t wait to see what Ayana will bring us next.

I loved every moment of Beasts of War, as always the author does a fantastic job at building atmosphere coupled with great storytelling.

I would have loved it more if it would have been just slightly longer to give the end of the book so more impact.

Overall I really enjoyed this series and the narrators were excellent. I will read more from this author.

2.7 ⭐️s rounded up. I’m very disappointed with this book at least compared to the others. The ending was very quick and wasnt satisfying enough. I still have a bunch of questions and I’m confused on some things. Bc why did Zain choose to die wtf was that. And then what was so special about this damn bracelet the god wanted to badly. And is koffi still a daraja after the splendor was taken out of her. Also did the gods just build a mountain in the middle of the city to throw fendu in because I’m crying at that. It was just not very satisfactory at all to me.
