First book in a series & this sets up a great world to lose yourself in. Yes, there are a lot of sci-fi romance books out there but this one stood out to me because of the characters & what they had been through. There is a wonderful backstory to the premise to this series & it brings the opportunity for such a wonderful future for the characters. This book was a standalone read - you did get a very satisfying HEA, but because of the series arc there are ongoing storylines that may annoy readers that like everything nice & tidy at the end of a book. If anything, there were a little too many characters for me to really keep straight, but overall I really enjoyed it.

Rachel is a biochemist who helped created a cancer drug that killed more people than it helped. She told her company but they falsified reports to get the drug approved by the FDA. When 400 people died, Rachel took the fall. Her lawyer convinced her to get tested for the bride program just in case. But she wanted to attempt her appeal in court, feeling that getting the truth out there was so important. However, she was going to be moved to genpop and a hit put out for her. So Warden Igara contacted her matched mates, Maxim and Ryston. Maxim is the governor of a zone of the Colony, the planet where contaminated soldiers are sent. They break Rachel out of prison and she agrees to go with them back to the colony. While there, she discovers a plot to reactive the soldiers hive implants that kills a human soldier and almost kills Maxim. Prince Nial lifts the ban that keeps contaminated soldiers from being able to go home but the trio decides to stay on the colony.

I like how so very smart Rachel is. The audiobook was triple narration (3 individual but not like duet). Each character having 3 different voices took a bit to get used to but wasn’t so bad. They do use different pronunciations for Nial and Prillon than the other books so far. Their claiming ceremony was super hot.

4.5/5 ⭐
3/5 🌶️

**Tropes**
- Fated mates
- intelligent FMC
- Gruff MMCs
- Second chance
-But how can you find my incredibly muscular giant body attractive, I have a flaw aliens find undesirable but isn't noticeable to humans

📖 **My Thoughts**
Straight in with the spice. Each 'bride' who matches with Prillions gets two hunks and enjoys all the fun that entails. They're possessive and expect submission. She is in jail after being wrongly blamed for a cancer cure she actually whistle blowed on. She won't go to her mates because she doesn't want to seem guilty. She may die if she stays

⚠️ **Triggers**
-Cancer
-Jail
-Threat of death
-Family abandonment (mild)

<:0_flag_progress_pride:1077471157575491594> **Representation**
Trouple but no crossed swords 😦

🌶️ **Spice**
Very spicy from the off. Spice is often and the men are very dominating. Some public sex. Anal and DP galore

Audiobook. Audible Included.

Heavy on the spice, lower on plot (not necessarily a bad thing lol). I just couldn't stand the one male narrator's voice, but I am super picky with voices. It was nice there was two different male narrator's for the two different guys. MFM alien/sci-fi romance.

Overall the story was decent. Nothing super original, but I always enjoy a bridal matching agency trope for alien romances.
