Kleypas can WRITE and I enjoyed reading this as it has a bunch of fave tropes/scenarios but this lost steam in the last quarter where it felt like the fmc lost her own her personality and character. Good steam but there was some dubious consent at times so that took away my enjoyment. I was also quite disappointed that there was absolutely NO mention of Cannon’s cat, Chopper, who was featured in the first book. Did Kleypas forget about her?
