This was a good book to jumpstart my reading habit--light and fluffy romcom. It's a mind candy book, light on plot and big on humor. Poppy desperately needs therapy, though. Very much a codependent people-pleaser. Kevin was probably my favorite character. Poppy did grow, learn, and change, though, and the overall message is uplifting.

A middle-aged woman who is a great mother and competent person is nevertheless at a crisis point in her life. A summer job working on a film seems like it could be a way out of her problems but of course comes with its own complications. I enjoy behind the scenes Hollywood stories and also main characters with enough emotional depth to root for, so I liked this book.

This book was very “meh” for me. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. I got veryyyy bored in the middle and at the very end. I had trouble really getting invested in the story and characters. Not a bad book, just didn’t resonate with me.
