I liked that this was a novel about a woman coming into her own when she's in a completely unfamiliar situation with no friends and no romantic partner physically present. She starts off pretty isolated, but she works hard, makes friends, and grows as a person. Poppy is easy to root for.

This was cute and quirky and funny. The plot was interesting enough, the characters were likable, and there were some parts that had me chuckling. I also was able to breeze through it and sometimes you need a breeze through book. My one dislike is that it was pretty obvious what was going on to everyone but the main (even to the reader). I did appreciate such a good hearted and capable person recognizing and falling victim to narcissistic male behavior in a way the probably happens all too often and isn’t discussed enough. I’d say read it!!

This book is adorable. If you are in a bad mood, this book could pull you out of it. There is humor, friendship, and a touch of romance. Kevin! The best character, if you know, you know. This hit the spot after finishing a couple of epic fantasy books.
