I love how Iain S. Thomas placed some of his own photography next to his poems. It can really give the reader something to ponder. There were many poems I liked enough to take a photo of, but only a couple that ran a chill through my body or brought tears to my eyes.

They were:
The Weight of Stone
The Words On A Tombstone
The Grand Distraction
The Light That Shines When Things End

But so so many were wonderful. And I have almost 30 saved in my phone, now.

Há pelo menos quatro anos acompanho o trabalho do Iain online, no blog I Wrote This For You, e sempre fui muito fã do seu trabalho.

Do total de duzentos poemas no máximo trinta me fizeram sentir alguma coisa. Quantidade não é qualidade mesmo. Que decepção.

One of my all-time favourite collections. I discovered this book around 4 years ago in the midst of a crippling depressive episode while wandering around a bookstore in the sweatpants I'd been wearing for the 5th consecutive day in a row. It was the sole copy in the store and the cover read 'I wrote this for you and only you. Everyone else who reads it, doesn't get it. They might think they get it, but they don't. This is the sign you've been looking for. You were meant to read these words.' While it seems now like the cheesiest thing ever, at the time it truly felt like a sign. To this day, I treasure this book. It is everything it means to be human. It is nostalgic, reassuring and honest. It has provided company and comfort to me in the times when I've felt truly alone. This book is a continuation of a journey. It makes me think. It makes me feel. It even caught my breath a few times because it was so relatable.

I couldn't put it down.

This book is unlike any poetry book I had read before. It almost felt too personal. Like I was reading someones journal. While I didn't relate to every one, I remember a time in my life that most fit.
The words flow. They pack a punch and I can read them over and over.

Beautifully written

This book would have been better if it was 90% shorter. There were some real gems, but they were hidden under so freaking many cliches and preachy poems that sound rich but had no depth.
