2.5⭐️ BUT prefacing with i just really don’t think im a poetry person. i deeply admire ocean vuong so kind of hurts me to give this rating and that this didn’t connect with me but it just didn’t :/ tedious and fractured and hard to follow which i guess is the point of this style but its just not for me. did have its profound moments but then would be followed by something so out left field (like little peep….) that i just couldn’t take it seriously? idk. fav was “amazon history of a former nail salon worker” and id already read that before reading this collection. just a miss overall for me but will continue to support this author!
