Colin and Penelope are easily my next favourites after Anthony and Kate. I wish I could read fluff of their day to day lives

Before starting, I wasn’t sure what I was expecting from this second epilogue. Perhaps a snippet of Colin and Penelope’s travels? Or maybe more child-themed stories? Instead, Quinn blesses us with something I wouldn’t even dare to wish, for I presumed it would never be addressed.
How Eloise found out about Lady Whistledown’s identity.
Colour me surprised when I realised that’s what Romancing Mr. Bridgerton: The 2nd Epilogue was about. It wasn’t really brought up in the book and in the show Bridgerton everything was already so different leading up to that point that I just assumed us readers would simply never know.
Firstly, I have to mention how beautifully written this is. Just like Romancing Mr Bridgerton, the second epilogue delivered everything I wanted from Penelope and Colin on a silver platter. Though I’ve already raved about how incredibly good Penelope and Colin’s dynamics are in Romancing Mr. Bridgerton I do have to insist that they truly are amazing. In this second epilogue there’s funny banter, heartwarming love and ordinary day-to-day behaviour. It’s the perfect followup to the novel.
Secondly, I highly appreciated how Eloise’s reaction to the big reveal was written. It was so heartwarming and satisfying to know that what I expected from her — incredulity, amazement, admiration for her best friend and her work as a woman at the time — was very much real and not whatever they spewed out in the Netflix show. It really moved me. In the show, the whole scene felt incredibly out of character, but I’ll refrain from getting too deep into it, as I fear I might get too personal.
All in all, an excellent addition to the fourth Bridgerton novell, and dare I say… better than the Netflix show? I think I dare.
