"Never let anyone tell you that it was easy for you to have the fire, the storms, the oceans of strength to speak your mind that you have today."

This is full of fire! A must read for anyone needing a pep-talk about self love or wanting to feel empowered! These poems are stunning and illustrate the true power of womanhood.

DNF pretty early on. The poems seemed a bit two-dimensional--lots of repeated symbolism and imagery. To be fair I'm in a colossal reading funk, but this did nothing to help.

To be honest I wasn’t enthralled with this book at the beginning, but the poems just get stronger throughout. By the end, I was in tears over how beautiful it is to embrace yourself as you are and to give yourself space and permission to just be. Nikita Gill is fantastic and though I’ve loved her more recent works even more than this one, Wild Embers has taken a place in my heart too.
