I really really wish I could give this book a higher rating because the first part was absolutely amazing, but unfortunately the last 5 chapters let me down: the problem that Georgie and Andrew faced felt forced and badly developed, as well as the ending.

2.5 I’m not a fan of the writing style or particularly interested in the socialite TMZ world, so this book wasn’t a match for me

I loved it. I loved Georgie's character. She is ridiculous but she's got a good heart. I was rooting so hard for them I'm so glad they got their happy ever after. My Enchanted heart is happy.

can always trust lauren layne to give me something that's perfectly simple, uncomplicated, fun and easy to read. or as some would say, perfectly ridiculous

georgie is the only billionaire socialite that passes the vibe check simply because she's so endearingly thoughtful and down to earth and lovable. you just can't help but adore her.
Spoiler can't even blame andrew for breaking out into a disney song in the middle of a street for her tbh. like i, too, would be down bad for georgie if she was real.

Andrew and Georgie, a realist divorce lawyer and a happy-go-lucky socialite. This is a grumpy vs sunshine, "Enchanted" as a contemporary novel. Andrew believed that there was no such thing as HEA while Georgie believed in it.

They had a thing going on. Andrew would always be at the lobby by 5 am to go to the gym and if Georgie was out all night, she'd come back by 5 with a box of donuts to share with the concierge. There, they'd meet and bicker. One day Georgie challenged Andrew to take her with him to work for a day to see if she could keep up with him. That's when their story started to move forward.

I don't particularly like Georgie's character. While they always had mini-fights, their big fight was about Georgie's mom coming to Andrew because she was going to divorce Georgie's dad. Georgie got upset with Andrew because he didn't tell her, even though he had client confidentiality obligations, although he had passed the case to his partners. The book told us that Andrew handled the fight like an asshole but I don't know, maybe I'm too much like Andrew but I thought that he didn't do anything wrong. He wasn't being particularly rude about it. Georgie was the one being over dramatic.

Andrew was the one who had to apologize while Georgie was seen as being in the right. That didn't sit well with me. Other than that, I didn't think their banter was anything special or endearing. Nothing heartwarming or anything to make me root for them. It was mediocre.

This was short, lame, absolutely depthless, and, at the end of the day, was a waste of my time. I don't really get why this is so highly rated here on Goodreads, especially since it's just a ripoff of The Hating Game with a touch of the Crossfire books. Should have DNF'd it, but it was short enough that it luckily didn't waste more than a few hours of my time.
