Radio Hope tells a tale of people surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Jackson - a man cast out from the only successfully running settlement, New City

Anette - a gun-slinging single mother who is trying to move into New City to protect her son

Marcus - second in command at New City, doing his best to keep the settlement together during the mayor's failing health

Follow the characters in this novel as they do their best to defend New City, to protect their only source of free survival information - Radio Hope, and fend of an invading army intent on taking over New Hope.

Review: I've been on a non-zombie, post-apocalyptic kick for awhile. Most books I've read so far this year have received four stars or less. Radio Hope received five stars from me, and I am usually very stingy with stars. Why did this book get five stars? For many reasons. One, Sean McLachlan's post-apocalyptic world building is fairly realistic. The characters are motivated by survival, and most actions are actions I can imagine any real person to take to ensure survival. Two, McLachlan drops in interesting tid-bits of information as the story moves along. Who is this strange man with the daughter dressed as a boy? What exactly happened for Tweakers to be a thing? Who is running Radio Hope? These information bits tease you, and make you want to come back for more. Three: the plot is easy to follow, doesn't drag on, and moves forward at a decent pace. I never thought to myself "oh, this part of the story was completely unnecessary." It's very rare quality found in books these days.

I enjoyed this book so much and cannot wait for the second one to come out!
