i thought he held back a lot of details that i was excited to read about. his escape felt so rushed! i wanted to hear more about the culture shock and obviously more details about the gulags but ya get whatcha get
Another heartbreaking memoir of North Korea. We are truly blessed to live in a free country like the United States.
Marxism/Leninism/ Communism is the greatest lie ever sold. This is yet another account (how many do we need to read? How many survivors of these countless terrible regimes do we need to hear from before we believe them?) of the darkness and despair wrought by this evil ideology.
Communism is a failure and an active evil. It has never worked and never will- heed the survivors.

Read this book in High school and really enjoyed it! Always have been interested in North Korea.

This book was haunting. It has dramatically altered my perspective on how I read and interpret news from the Koreas.
