Lockwood is hilarious. This memoir mostly deals with her family, most of whom come off as absolutely unhinged. There are moments of deep sadness and beauty. You can absolutely tell she's a poet.

A tender but still critical look at growing up within the Catholic church in America. She has a predictably wonderful poetic tone- you're going to want your own copy to underline all your favourite sentences.

Priestdaddy is a hilarious book, Lockwoods meets her  childhood head-on with an unflinching eye and ceaseless sense of humour. Her insights don’t end at funny though as she unpacks the destructive elements of growing up in the extremely patriarchal structures of her home and church(which essentially are each other’s extension).
