This was a great one! The Death series and Small Gods have been my favourites so far, but I think this was the first book in the series where I really really cared about the characters, rather than just having a good time. Especially the building relationships between Carrot and Angua, and Detritus and Cuddy. Also, the best Discworld books are ones that relate to real world affairs and this one nails it - the gonne (the power guns have over people), the inner relations of humans, dwarves and trolls (racial stereotypes and divisions), and Vimes' 'Boots' theory of economics - and his whole struggle getting married and ascending the class ladder when he just wants to be in the Watch. I think the books set in Ankh-Morpork are the ones that make the Discworld come to life for me.
