Scarlett never fails when it comes to a writing, like seriously, she could write the instructions for how to put cereal in a bowl and I would love reading it! And this book is just as impressive!! I was a little hesitant being non-spicy, (yet still bought the special edition

I was hooked from the first page. The premise was intriguing and the magic system very unique. There was some cliche stuff and Shy felt sometimes too good too be true. But that doesn’t matter, because it’s a very entertaining read keeps you wanting more. Highly recommend!
I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I went in blind, like so blind that I didn’t even know this was an Orpheus and Eurydice reimagining until I started reading some reviews. Knowing this doesn’t change my rating but does make the story even more interesting. I thought this was really good. I am a big fan of Scarlett’s writing. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by her so I wasn’t expecting any less less from this one. This had like an urban fantasy eerie vibe going on.

3:00am, and tomorrow -yes, I meant today- I need to get out of bed freaking early.
*one more chapter* is the worst lie ever.
So... my review comes tomorrow, at this point my brain just ran out of battery.

ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
A book to devour, light and youthful. The conflict is simple enough, but it's the bits of mythology that it encompasses that makes for a dark and intriguing experience.
Sadly, the main characters didn't make me fall in love, they were flat and predictable; only the villain was, perhaps, my favorite.

Orpheus and eurydice retelling i guess? But also identical story to Tracy Wolff's Crave. I will probably keep reading the series because I do like this YA supernatural/fantasy formula, but its not something i will be anxiously awaiting the next installment of.
